I always enjoy going to conferences and not necessarily learning something new, but finding new ways to apply what I already know. Educators always (ALWAYS) "comment" on how there is not enough time in the day. So I usually find it is easier to show staff members new ways to use old things. Don't get me wrong, there is a need to move forward, but you just can't leave previous resources behind.
I had one of these moments during a Google Apps workshop last week. I use Google Reader to organize all of the blogs that I want to read, but don't have the time (see, we ALWAYS say that) to go to each link to check up on it on a daily basis. I use Delicious to organize all of my bookmarks, because, hey, it's easy to forget something that will be useful later.
But during the workshop, a couple people suggested using Google Reader to stay updated with other Delicious users. One idea is to do it for people you respect (or you could even do it to mine!). The other idea is that, if you have a group of students collecting websites or resources, create a delicious account for that group and you and/or the group members can stay updated using Google Reader.
What you would do is go to Delicious and find the person/group you want to keep track of (quickest way: ask the person what their Delicious username is). Copy the URL, go to your Google Reader page, click on "Add subscription," paste the URL and you'll be set!
If you have any other ways you see these two work together, or any other website (especially Web 2.0 sites), please share!
